Uganda Missions
Love and hope for Uganda's children
Half a world away from Enid, our Uganda Missions ministry is a family caring for vulnerable children — sharing the love of Jesus through food, shelter, education, and hope.
About the mission
Our story
Our Uganda Missions ministry helps care for children who have been abandoned, rescued from trafficking, or left with nowhere to turn. On the ground in Uganda, they're welcomed into a safe home and cared for by people who were once orphaned children themselves — and who have been rescuing and raising the vulnerable since 2012.
World Harvest Church is committed to this work. Our own co-pastor, Tamy Mendenhall, helps lead it, and through your generosity we help provide food, shelter, education, and the hope of Jesus for children who are counting on it.

Across Uganda, poverty, the loss of parents, and family hardship leave many girls vulnerable to exploitation. Through our rescue program, we work to bring these girls and young women into a safe home — equipping them with vocational skills, life skills, financial responsibility, and a deep understanding of God's love, so they can build a future full of hope and dignity.

One evening she came home beaming, holding a beautiful bag she had made herself. Today she designs and sews bags and clothing, earns an income of her own, and has graduated with real skills for a hopeful future.

After losing both her parents, Morreen was left with no one to care for her and ended up on the streets. When our outreach team found her, she chose a different path. She returned to school and finished her studies, learned tailoring, and now excels at making school uniforms. Married with a child of her own, she uses her skills to provide for her family.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this — to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
James 1:27
